It’s always “bear time” on the refuge. But on Pocosin Lakes National Wildlife Refuge, thanks to the weather warming up, visitors now see a lot more. Walking along a road or in a field, black bears often look slow and lumbering. But when the need arises, they can run quickly, swim and climb.
