On April 28, Beaufort County sheriff’s deputies responded to a home on Vadie Lane in Washington after a resident came home to discover a breaking and entering and larceny at her home. The homeowner reported her home had been forcibly entered and an X Box gaming system and two televisions taken during the crime.

After receiving a tip on the location of the stolen property and the identity of a suspect in this case, Investigator Jason Hill was able to recover that property. Hill was also able to identify Joshua James Arnold, 28, of Elizabeth City, and charge him with one count each of breaking and entering and one count of larceny after breaking and entering. Arnold was arrested by deputies with the Pasquotank County Sheriff’s Office and was ordered held on a $1,000 secured bond.

On April 27, the sheriff’s office received a report of a breaking and entering and larceny from a home on South Asbury Church Road in Washington. The homeowner told deputies someone had forcibly entered his home and taken an X Box gaming system, jewelry and money during the break-in. The sheriff’s office began collecting evidence and speaking with witnesses.

As a result of the information and evidence gathered in this case, Hill recovered most of the stolen property. Upon further investigation, warrants were issued by a magistrate, charging Marquel Levette Warren, 29, of Washington, with one count of breaking and entering, one count of larceny after breaking and entering and four counts of obtaining property by false pretense. Warren was arrested by the Washington Police Department and ordered held in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $15,000 secured bond.
