Choral Society finds new home

It’s summer, and we are far from inactive. It is our time to clean out, throw away, re-file, refine our logo and finally, plan for the fall session and Christmas concert season.

Now, we have added summer rehearsals on a relaxed basis. We will meet on alternating Tuesdays each month: June 13, June 27, July 11 and July 25. The August meeting dates are yet to be announced.

Meetings will occur at 7 p.m. at the First Presbyterian Church. Please park in the rear and come in through that entrance.

At this time we want to thank the former Beaufort County Arts Council, now Arts of the Pamlico, for its continued support, as well as the Grace Martin Harwell Senior Center for offering rehearsal space for so many years. We would like to thank both for the use of their storage facilities.

We are now on the move. We finally are in the same place as our music for the first time in a long time. The First Presbyterian Church on Gladden Street here in Washington has given us a wonderful storage room and rehearsal space. We will continue on Tuesday nights through the summer and then return to Thursday nights in late September.

I wish to add a personal thanks to the Steering Committee and a few members who are now helping to move us into out new quarters. Hats off to Barbara, Betty, Wendy and Molly.
