HYDE COUNTY — A second arrest was made in connection with two deaths in Hyde County this month.

Alfornia Lee Anderson, 32, was arrested in Charlotte late Wednesday night and charged with two counts of murder. He is being held in Mecklenburg County Jail Central on a $1 million bond.

Anderson is the second person to be arrested after the June 1 overdose deaths of Ryan Edward Gibbs, 23, and Sarah David Reams, 16, both of Fairfield.

Tiffaney Renee Webber, 25, of Fairfield, was arrested earlier this week and also charged with two counts of murder. She is being held in the Pamlico Correctional Institution without bond.

On June 1, Hyde County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call for a possible overdose. Upon arrival, officers found the two bodies, along with evidence of drug use, according to a press release.

The sheriff’s office then called in the State Bureau of Investigation for assistance with the case.

Investigators identified the substance found as cocaine laced with fentanyl, which they believe was provided by Webber, the release stated. They believe Gibbs and Reams were not aware the drug was laced.

Anderson was convicted in June 2015 for an incident of drug possession in Dare County in 2013, according to the North Carolina Department of Public Safety’s database. Webber is still not listed on the database.

The SBI did not respond to a request for comment Thursday. There is no word on whether there will be more arrests in the case.
