Salesmanship for Business Owners

Successful salespeople are vital to the funding of every other part of a business. Without their success, no other department can fulfill its role. Speaker Tim Dannelly believes selling is an art mastered by those who learn and put into practice certain principles. His presentation is based on his book, “Selling the American Dream.”

From the fundamentals of selling to the secrets of effectively planning sales calls, Dannelly will teach techniques that have worked for generations of successful sales professionals. This seminar will take place July 13 from 6-9 p.m.

Business Tax Essentials

This workshop covers the basics of tax compliance ranging from registering a business, to withholding from employees, and sales and use tax requirements. The N.C. Department of Revenue will provide information on a program for businesses that have fallen behind on sales and use, withholding and other trust taxes.

At the end of the seminar, there will be a question-and-answer session with the presenters and networking possibilities with other business owners. This seminar will take place July 18 from 2-4 p.m.

How to Start a Nonprofit Business

Communities are expressing tremendous interest in forming nonprofit businesses. They should carefully consider this quest and pay attention to taking the proper steps. Failure to do so could result in serious consequences for individuals and damage the mission of the nonprofit.

Participants will discover the basics of nonprofit businesses, refine the definition of a nonprofit and consider issues before starting a nonprofit. They will learn key steps to forming a nonprofit, forms and documents that need to file and important first steps for a board to take. They will consider whether they can manage the process without an attorney. Sam Gore will lead this seminar July 24 from 6-9 p.m.
