RALEIGH — AgCarolina Farm Credit, eastern North Carolina’s largest agricultural lending cooperative, announces 26 high school and college students will be receiving scholarships totaling $26,250 during 2017. The scholarship program is one component of the lender’s corporate giving program.

Recipients of the $1,000 At-Large Scholarship are Allen Benson of Pantego, Katelyn Honeycutt of Angier, Garrett Lee of Smithfield and Mary Beth Tyndall of Deep Run.

Recipients of the $750 Community College Scholarship are William Batchelor of Trenton, Victoria Brantley of Bailey, Timothy Braswell of Smithfield, Audrey Glass of Belhaven and Jacob Thomasson of Oxford.

Four FFA scholarships of $500 each were awarded to Abygail McIntire of Goldsboro, Joseph Richardson of Belvidere, Elizabeth Satkowiak of Clayton and Matthew Whitley of Bailey.

Recipients of the $500 4-H Scholarship are Mary Dunn of Mount Olive and India Jones of Warrenton.

In addition to the above scholarships, five $2,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at North Carolina State University. The recipients are Collin Blalock of Wilson, Katelyn Honeycutt of Angier, Andrew Spruill of Oriental, Justin Spruill of Oriental and Mary Beth Tyndall of Deep Run. Also, two $750 scholarships to the N.C. State Ag Institute will be awarded. Recipients of the Ag Institute scholarships are Chase Carawan of Swan Quarter and Grayson Ferrell of Wilson.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at North Carolina A&T State University. Student selection for the scholarships at A&T was made by the university, and the recipients are Jarred Taylor of Raleigh and James Martin of Raleigh.

Two $1,000 scholarships will be awarded to students who are currently enrolled in or will be pursuing a degree in the agriculture curriculum at the University of Mount Olive. Student selection for the scholarships at UMO was made by the university, and the recipients are Lindsey Tyndall and Kaleigh May.
