Yard sale website leads to heroin arrests

On June 22, investigators with the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office and the Washington Police Department arrested Joshua Williams, 23, of 219 Lennington Lane in Washington, and Dario Jones, 34, of 4651 Sandy Ridge Road in Washington.
Williams was charged with obtaining property by false pretense, uttering a forged instrument, forgery of an instrument, possession of heroin and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Jones was charged with trafficking in heroin, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine within 1,000 feet of a school, possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
Their arrest stemmed from Williams forging a stolen check and purchasing a laptop computer from Office Depot with the check. Williams posted the laptop computer on a yard sale website for sale. Using the yard sale website, investigators arranged to purchase the laptop computer from Williams. Williams agreed to meet at Walmart to sell the laptop computer.
Investigators located Williams sitting in a vehicle at Walmart. Dario Jones was driving the vehicle. Investigators approached the vehicle and arrested Williams.
Investigators witnessed Jones holding a plastic bag that contained 48 bags of heroin and a plastic bag containing cocaine. Investigators arrested Jones and conducted a search of Jones and the vehicle. Investigators found a plastic bag containing marijuana and a marijuana cigarette. Investigators searched Williams and found a syringe and multiple bags of heroin in Williams’ pocket.
Williams was detained in the Beaufort County Detention Center under no bond. Jones was confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond.
