Hicks charged with B&E

At approximately 12:20 a.m. Saturday, June 11, the Beaufort County Sheriff’s Office received a report of a breaking and entering of a motor vehicle located on Sandpointe Drive in Washington. The owner of the vehicle discovered the side door glass of his truck had been broken. During the crime scene investigation, blood was recovered.

The Sheriff’s Office began an investigation and a suspect was identified.

As a result of information obtained during interviews and evidence collected at the scene, investigator Robert Gaskins applied for and obtained a warrant charging William Gregory Hicks Jr., age 47, of Sandpointe Drive in Washington with one count of breaking and entering of a motor vehicle and one count of felony larceny. Hicks was arrested Thursday and confined in the Beaufort County Detention Center on a $500 secured bond.
