After nearly 60 years of marriage, Donald Walton Wilkinson and Patricia
Anne Wilkinson passed away within six months of each other – he on January 10, 2017 and she on July 15, 2017.
A graveside services will be held at 11:00a.m. on Saturday, August 5, 2017 at the Yeatesville Cemetery, 19225 US 264 E., Pinetown, NC, 27865.
Donald Walton Wilkinson was born on February 20, 1929 to Edwin and Odelle Wilkinson in Pantego, NC.  He graduated from Pantego High School in 1948 and went on to earn his accounting degree from Smithdeal-Massey Business College.  Donald served his country in the US Navy during the Korean War.
Patricia Anne Wilkinson was born on August 23, 1930 to Ralph and Irene Hutchinson in Minetto, NY.  She graduated from Holley High School in 1948 and went on to earn her degree in retail from the Rochester Institute of Technology.
Donald and Patricia were united in marriage on June 1, 1957.  Donald was a club manager at Bethesda Country Club in Bethesda, MD for 14 years, at Hunting Hills Country Club in Roanoke, VA for 3 years and at the City Tavern Club in Washington, DC for 20 years, until his retirement in 1993.  Patricia, in addition to caring for her home and family, worked as a bookkeeper’s assistant at her husband’s various clubs, as a real estate broker and, finally, as an administrative assistant at Bloomingdale’s department store.
Grateful for having shared in Donald and Patricia’s lives are their son, Christopher Stuart Wilkinson; their daughter, Donna Wilkinson Thorne and her husband, Scott; three grandchildren, Lauren Edwards, Bobby Thorne and Betsy Thorne; and one great-grandchild, Cameryn Elizabeth Anne.  They are also survived by Patricia’s sister, Phyllis (Homer) Todd; sister-in-law, Anne O’Neal Wilkinson; and their many nieces and nephews. Donald was preceded in death by his half-brother, James Haywood Lancaster, and his brother Robert Edwin Wilkinson.
