The Washington (evening) Rotary Club met Thursday at the Washington Yacht & Country Club.

Following a time of fellowship in the Upper Deck, members assembled in the Pamlico Room, where President Todd Williamson convened the meeting.

Led by Dr. Zeno Edwards, members recited the Pledge of Allegiance, Bartow Houston led in the singing of “My Country ’tis of Thee,” and Bruce Rabon offered a prayer.

After the meal, Bartow Houston gave the Health & Happiness report. President Williamson then called upon Ed Lich, program chairman for the evening, who in turn introduced his wife, Buffy, and Karna Bennett, both of who are staff members at the Greenville VA Health Care Center.

Ms. Lich, RD (registered dietician), and Mrs. Bennett, a military veteran who is the volunteer coordinator, both gave very interesting and informative overviews of the myriad and comprehensive services offered at the center. The diversity of these services is most impressive.

Following a Q & A time, both speakers were presented a “highly coveted” Rotary pen, after which Shanon Carter led members in reciting the Rotary Four-Way Test.

The meeting was then adjourned by Williamson.
