Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.
All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.
Samantha
Our American shorthair tabby wears her stripes of soft gray, creamy brown, tan and black to perfection. Pristine white appears playfully on her face, bib and paws. Big, soft brown eyes rimmed with ebony mascara complete a beautiful picture. Samantha is a calm, observant 5-month-old, juvenile cat with a sweet and cuddly personality — she loves to be held. She wants and needs love, attention and playtime in a good forever home. In return, Samantha will show unconditional love, friendship and companionability. Come in; she will greet you with a meow and extend her paw for a paw-shake. For more on this lovely girl, visit www.facebook.com/ENC Shelter Cats. Samantha’s ID is No. 1335. She’s available through next Saturday at the shelter.
Jacob
At approximately 3 years old, this large, male American pit bull terrier–mix is a calm and reserved fellow. Jacob wears an attractive brown/black brindle shorthair coat with white accents. Worry shows on his expressive face, as he questions why he’s in the shelter.
Jacob deserves a good, loving forever home, and he will do best with owner(s) willing to give him attention, care, exercise in a fenced area or on a leash, and basic obedience training.
