Lois Ann Armstrong Boyd

Ms. Lois Ann Armstrong Boyd, a resident of Archbell Road, Bath, passed away Friday, August 18, 2017 at her residence.

Lois was born December 23, 1948 in Belhaven, to the late Milbern and Cora Armstrong. She was a graduate of John A. Wilkinson High School and an active member of Five Points Free Will Baptist Church of Washington. She married Dalmon E. Boyd Sr. who preceded her in death in 2014. Lois was a sales associate with Belk for many years retiring in 2017. She was also the previous co-owner of The Country Kitchen.

Survivors include her son, Dalmon Edison “Dal” Boyd Jr. and wife Robin Ann of Bath; her daughter, Cindy Boyd Burke and husband Mike of Kinston, NC; her brothers; Delbert Armstrong Sr. and Bobby “Tink” Armstrong and wife Lou, all of Ponzer, NC; one sister, Carolyn Biggs and husband Wade of Pinetown; seven grandchildren and her mother-in-law, Marie Boyd of Bath.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Ormond “Craig” Boyd, in 1990; her brother, Melvin Armstrong; and a sister, Fay Radcliff. A celebration of her life will be held 3:00 pm, Sunday, August 20, 2017 at Five Points Free Will Baptist Church, Washington, with Pastor David Young officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service and immediately following the service at the church. The family will also receive friends at her home. A private burial will be held at Pamlico Memorial Gardens, Washington.
