The issue with desecrating monuments

To the Editor:

In the year of 1958, the United States Congress gave Confederate veterans equal legal status as veterans of the United States (U.S. public Law 85-425, Section 410). All Confederate graves were also declared to be equal to those who had died in any other U.S. war. When you see people out who are desecrating Confederate graves, statues and monuments, they are also desecrating monuments of U.S. veterans as if it were WWI, WWII, Vietnam or modern-day War on Terror veterans.
