Bryant Buck speaks at Washington (noon) Rotary

Introduced by Washington (noon) Rotary Club member Mike Buzzeo, Bryant Buck, executive director of the Mid-East Commission, recently talk to club members about how many in our area would benefit from knowing more about his organization and its various areas of involvement.
Buck first explained that the mission of this non-government group is to enhance the ability of local governments to successfully improve the quality of life for area citizens through leadership in technical assistance, planning, program management and development and public-private partnerships.
The Mid-East Commission serves Beaufort County along with the four other nearby counties in this region. It oversees the following programs: Workforce Development; Area Agency on Aging; Community Development Block Grants; Beaufort County JobLink; Economic Development; Planning/Land Use Administration.
He further explained that his group works closely with local businesses and nonprofits and he also provided those in attendance, recent economic data which his group has produced.
Washington Noon Rotary consists of volunteers within Beaufort County, dedicating their efforts to charitable causes both locally and those to which its parent organization subscribes. Each year, this local group has raised and disbursed funds to local non-profits through creative fundraising activities.
