The City of Washington and Mayor Mac Hodges proclaimed Sept. 11 as Patriot Day and National Day of Service and Remembrance, in remembrance of the thousands of lives lost in the terrorist attacks on Sept. 11, 2001. Hodges and councilmen William Pitt and Richard Brooks, along with representatives from Washington Police & Fire Services, were present for the proclamation.
