Mrs. Annie “Laura” Hodges Mayo, 77, of Greenville, died Wednesday, September 13, 2017 at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville.

Mrs. Hodges was a graduate of Washington High School in 1957. She retired from Pitt County Memorial Hospital as secretary in Human Resources. In later years she spent time caring for her grandson, who was the love of her life. She was a very avid animal lover.

She was preceded in death by her father, Louis Hodges; mother, Nellie Whidbee Hodges Jones; and a brother, Frankie Hodges.

She is survived by her: daughter, Kathy Mayo of Greenville; grandson, Andrew Mayo; son, Carl Mayo of Washington; grandchildren, Sarah Mayo and Dylan Mayo; and her three furry friends, Beau, Sasha and Bella.

The family will receive friends Saturday from 1–2:30 pm at Wilkerson Funeral Home.

Services will be private.
