A new church is starting in Tyrrell County.
“Our name is “Resurrection River.” Our “launch service” will be on September 8, 2018,” said Pastor Joseph Reeder.
Reeder and his wife Sommer made a decision to stay in Tyrrell County and plant a church.
“We love these people, and we love this community. More importantly, God has called us to this community. So my wife, about 15 others and my self, felt led by God to plant a church in Tyrrell County with a vision centered around Isaiah 61:1. We want to bring Hope to those who feel like they have none,” said Reeder.
“Hope611” is the name of one of the ministries that will be launching in October through Resurrection River.Hope611 is an outreach that provides clean needles and overdose reversal kits to people struggling with addiction.
“We also will be partnering with the school system in mentoring and reading to students. We also will be partnering with IBX Hotline to reach out to victims of domestic violence. Our biggest Ministry though, is “Resurrection Worship” our worship band. Resurrection Worship brings Spirit Filled contemporary worship to the community helping people encounter God through worship,” said Reeder.
The Reeders have lived in Tyrrell County for nearly two and a half years.
“We absolutely love this community. It feels like home here in more ways than one.
Right now we are building our launch team, dreaming together, getting involved in the community, and plan to launch in 2018,” said Reeder.
