Lahoma B. Phillips

Mrs. Lahoma Lee Boyd Phillips, age 87, a resident of Roper, died Tuesday, October 3, 2017 at Roanoke Landing Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.

A graveside service will be held 2:00 PM Friday, October 6, 2017 at Oakdale Cemetery in Washington.

The family will receive friends from 12 Noon to 1:30 pm Friday at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory in Washington and other times at the home of her son, George G. Phillips Jr., 38 Academy Street, Roper.

Mrs. Phillips was born in Pinetown, N.C. on January 12, 1930. She was the daughter of the late Clarence G. Boyd and Ida Florence Boyd. Mrs. Phillips was a homemaker and a member of the Mackey’s Methodist Church.

On August 24, 1946, she married George G. Phillips Sr., who preceded her in death.

Mrs. Phillips is survived by a son, George G. Phillips Jr. and wife, Jo of Roper; three daughters, Ann McKimmey of Roper, Ruth Phelps and husband, Jerry Lee of Creswell, Ellen Swain of Plymouth; nine grandchildren; 15 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her parents and her husband, Mrs. Phillips was preceded in death by a brother, Mason Boyd and a sister, Sue Mason.
