The first monthly Character Education Celebration was held recently at S.W. Snowden. Students were nominated for September’s traits of responsibility and respect by their teachers. Hosted by school counselor Wayne Parsons, staff, students and parents were invited to the school cafeteria to have light refreshments, receive award certificates and hear staff testimonials for SWS’s outstanding students read aloud by Principal Debra Windley. Staff comments included praise for students consistently providing daily homework assignments, assisting with classroom tasks, being helpful to new teachers, displaying impeccable manners throughout the day and coming to the aide of younger students.
