Dewey Williams Boseman

Mr. Dewey Williams Boseman, age 85, a resident of Bath, died Thursday peacefully in his sleep at home at Shekinah Shores on Bath Creek. Dewey was born August 23, 1932 in Wilson County, NC to the late Virginia Williams Boseman and Dewey Boseman. He served his country in the United States Army and graduated from N.C. State School of Engineering in May 1958. Dewey was an environmental engineer for N.C. State government, retiring in 1994. He was also a member of Harvest Church in

Washington. He enjoyed spending time with his family and would have attended his granddaughter Kate’s wedding today. In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by one son, Neal Boseman.

Survivors include his wife, Alice Fulmer Boseman of the home; two daughters: Lynne Boseman Fortunato and husband John of Sewickley, PA and Rhonda Boseman Sillitoe and husband Mark of Bath; one son, Reed Boseman and wife Vera of Bath; three grandsons: Chris Fortunato of Chocowinity, Stephen Fortunato of Ft. Meade, MD and Dustin Boseman of Bath; three granddaughters: Jessi Boseman of Charlotte, NC, Ginny Kirsch of Broomfield, CO and Kate Sillitoe of Ocean Isle, NC. A celebration of his life will be held 2:00 pm, Sunday, October 22, 2017 at the Boseman family home with Brian Oliver and Bill Zachman officiating. The family will receive friends immediately following the service. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be directed to Samaritan’s Purse, PO Box 3000, Boone, NC 28607. Hillside Funeral Service & Cremations, 4500 Hwy 264 East, Washington, has been given the honor of being entrusted with serving the Boseman family.
