The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of scholarships through the BCCC Foundation for the fall 2017 semester. The foundation is now accepting applications for spring 2018.

Courtney Anthony has received the Tayloe Hospital Pharmacy Medical Scholarship. Anthony, 21, is the daughter of Jennifer Davenport and Shon Anthony of Greenville. She is working on general education classes at BCCC and plans to work as a dental hygienist. The Greenville resident attended North Pitt High School. She currently works at Publix as a cashier.

Katelyn Brown has received the James Franklin & Hannah Roberson Bagwell Scholarship. Brown, 21, is the daughter of Edna and Jim Umphlett of Greenville. She is working on her associate degree in nursing. The Greenville resident attended D.H. Conley High School. She currently works at Vidant Medical Center as an admissions registrar.

Jamie Davenport has received the Thomas Minges/Pepsi Cola Scholarship. Davenport, 17, is the daughter of Bob and Caroline Davenport of Farmville. She is working toward a bachelor’s degree in nursing through the RIBN program. The Farmville resident attended Farmville Central High School.

Jennifer Everett has received the Helen Thorne Brooks Boyd Scholarship. Everett, 45, is daughter of Jeanne Horton of Ayden. She is working toward a degree in agribusiness technology. The Bath resident attended Northside High School, as well as attending East Carolina University and College of the Albemarle. She plans to start a farm.

Kara Hall has received the Thomas Minges/Pepsi Cola Scholarship. Hall, 19, is working on her Associate in Arts degree. She is the daughter of Paula and David Hall of Washington. The Washington resident attended Washington High School and plans get a bachelor’s degree in English. She currently works as a babysitter.

Jamie Hauser has received the Tayloe Hospital Pharmacy Medical Scholarship. Hauser, 19, is the daughter of Daphne and Clay Hauser of Kitty Hawk. She is working on an associate degree in nursing, and she plans to get a bachelor’s degree in nursing. The Washington resident attended First Flight High School. She currently works as a cashier at Bear Drugs.

James Mann has received the Larry Lancaster Scholarship. Mann, 56, is a father of one, and he is working on a degree in automotive systems technology. The Washington resident works at Beaufort County Community College as a grounds and maintenance mechanic.

Keja Norman has received the BCCC Foundation Scholarship and the Washington (evening) Rotary Scholarship. Norman, 19, is the daughter of Germicka Norman of Creswell. She is working on an associate degree in nursing with plans to become an anesthesiologist. The Roper resident attended Creswell High School.

Jamie Styons has received the Albert Jowdy Memorial Scholarship. Styons, 18, is the son of John and Lee Styons of Plymouth. He is working on his degree in electrical engineering technology, and he plans to work for Domtar or Weyerhaeuser. The Plymouth resident attended Riverside High School. He earned a Career Readiness Certification from Riverside, and he holds a Future Farmers of America state degree.
