Myrtle “Booger” Hodges

Myrtle “Booger” Amanda Alligood Hodges, age 76, a resident of Washington, died Wednesday, November 15, 2017 at her home.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM Saturday, November 18, 2017 at Graceway Pentecostal Holiness Church and will be officiated by Rev. Linwood Lewis.
Mrs. Hodges was born in Beaufort County on July 23, 1941 to the late Elijah Plum Alligood and Lillian Randolph Alligood. On March 19, 1965, she married Carson Carter “C.C” Hodges who survives. Mrs. Hodges served and met many people in the community when she cooked for Slatestone Grocery and at the Dairy Palace. In her free time, she enjoyed spending time with her sisters and playing bingo and going camping at Green Acres. Her grandchildren were her life and she loved spending time with them. Mrs. Hodges also loved her dogs and her rabbit Thumper.
In addition to her husband C.C. Hodges, she is survived by three children, Tammy Swanner Comfort and husband Ken of Bath, Michael Hodges and wife Beth of Washington, Loretta Latham and husband Lee of Washington; thirteen grandchildren, Craig DeJong and wife Heather, Christopher DeJong and wife Amber, Kimberly DeJong, Thomas Comfort, Kayly Comfort, Justin Comfort, Josh Latham and wife Ashley, Braxton Latham and wife Allison, Devon Satchell and wife Lynn, Jessica Mitchell, Tyler Hodges and wife Mandy, Michelle Clark and husband Josh, Chase Hodges, Ashley Hodges; fifteen great-grandchildren, Jaxson DeJong, Gracie DeJong, Shyla DeJong, Makenna DeJong, Makayla Coburn, Gracie Coburn, Hunter Phillips, Piper Latham, Raelyn Satchell, Callie Satchell, Lane Clark, Ava Winters, Amelia Winters, Naveah Hardy, one little boy on the way; three sisters, Geneva Beacham, Alice Pyle and husband, Doris Edwards and husband Earl; a sister-in-law, Barbara Alligood; brother-in-law, Jack Banks; and several nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by three brothers, Larry Alligood, Buddy Alligood, Michael “Doodlebug” Alligood; three sisters, Gail Banks, Brenda Woolard, Laura Edwards; two brothers-in-law, James Edwards and E.D. Beacham.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 PM until 8:00 PM Friday, November 17, 2017 at Paul Funeral Home & Crematory of Washington.
