On December 3-5 the Health Science class from Columbia Early College High School took an educational trip to Atlanta, Georgia, to visit Bodies: The Exhibition.

Students saw real human specimens dissected and preserved to display the intricacies of each body system.

Students also saw the effects on the body of disease and unhealthy life choices –- what happens to the

lungs, for example, when people smoke.

“By seeing this exhibit it helps our students to link theory and practice to better understand what they have learned throughout this semester.” said Dr. Will Hoffman, superintendent.

The students also visited the aquarium, and had an opportunity to see the mural at the Civil Rights Museum.

“It was an amazing trip!” Dr. Hoffman exclaimed. “These students represented our school and community very well.”
