Members of the Goodwill Community Foundation visited Columbia Middle School December 14 to distribute crucial funds for a washer-dryer at the school.
“The $1,400 grant was brought about through the vision of principal Catherine Baker, counselor Sarah Fox and the entire CMS staff who saw the need, and acquired the funds, to support this resource for our students and families,” stated Dr. Will Hoffman, superintendent.
Presenting the check were Dennis McLain, president of Goodwill Community Foundation, and Linda McLain, executive vice president of Goodwill Industries of Eastern North Carolina, and Stephenie McLean, director of Regional Community Development, all of Durham.
Additional funding opportunities were discussed during the visit.
“Tyrrell County Schools appreciates the $1,400
grant from the Goodwill Community Foundation for a new washer/dryer at Columbia Middle School. This resource helps us to meet a critical need for our school, our students, and our community,” Dr. Hoffman said.
