Construction of a new ramp and deck for the Arts Building on the Columbia Early College High School campus is set to begin shortly, Dr. Will Hoffman, superintendent, announced January 12.

“This project will accomplish two key goals: It will increase our campus accessibility for all of our students; and the project will build skills with our CTE students, under the guidance of Mr. Josh Davenport, who will be helping with the construction,” Dr. Hoffman stated.

The project, along with other improvements called for by the Americans with Disabilities Act, was originally slated for next summer, but the board of education decided to accelerate the construction timeline for the students and faculty.

The structure was designed by Allen Lee, Rob Brickhouse, Wesley Armstrong, and Doug Patrick (aka #kickin’chickin’designs).
