Jeffrey Sackrison, president of Vidant Bertie Hospital in Windsor and Vidant Chowan Hospital in Edenton, was named recently to the Class of 2017 Great 100 Nurses of North Carolina.

He was chosen for the honor because “he exemplifies continued professional growth, and inspires co-workers with his commitment to help improve the health and well-being of eastern North Carolina,” stated the award announcement.

The Great 100 Nurses, a nonprofit organization, offers the annual honor as a way for peers to acknowledge and promote nursing excellence throughout the state of North Carolina. Sackrison and the other members of the Class of 2017 were honored for this recognition at a gala dinner in Concord.

Sackrison has served in his current role with Vidant Health for 13years. He earned a bachelor’s degree in Nursing from East Stroudsburg University and a master’s degree in Business Administration from California Coast University. He is also a fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives and a member of the following organizations: North Carolina Hospital Association, North Carolina Hospital Association Strategic Partners Board, Eastern Area Health Education Center Executive Board, Edenton Chowan Partnership Board and Executive Committee, and the Edenton Rotary Club.
