Circling open fields, perched atop trees surveying the landscape, shown here on Alligator River National Wildlife Refuge, is a Red-tailed Hawk. One of the most common hawks seen across North America, the Red-tailed Hawk has keen eyes and feeds on squirrels, mice, rabbits, snakes and a variety of other animals and birds.
