Andrea Gibbs, Extension Ag Agent in Hyde County, recently reminded about upcoming crop insurance sales closing dates for several major field crops in North Carolina.

Closing date for the following crops is Feb. 28: cabbage, corn, cotton, flue-cured tobacco, grain sorghum, peanuts, and soybeans.

Sales closing date for the Whole Farm Revenue Protection (WFRP) plan is also on Feb 28 (for early fiscal year filers).

Crop insurance sales closing date for the following crops is March 15: burley tobacco, fresh market beans, machine-harvested pickling cucumbers, and processing beans.

“Interested producers should contract their crop insurance agent as soon as possible,” Gibbs stated.
