Queen Anne’s Revenge exhibit christens new Bath Exhibit Hall

BATH — The 300th anniversary of the sinking of Blackbeard’s flagship is underway with a tour of artifacts recovered from his flagship, Queen Anne’s Revenge. The traveling QAR exhibit will be on display in the new Bath Exhibit Hall (formerly the northwest wing of the old Bath High School) beginning on March 1 and closing on May 31.
The ribbon cutting and grand opening for the QAR traveling exhibit will be today at 11:30 a.m. A short program and light refreshments will follow.
Start your 2018 year of the pirate off right! See cannonballs, gun flint, spikes and other items last touched by pirates. The exhibit is traveling across the state through next January and providing information and education on piracy.

Historic Bath became North Carolina’s first town and was incorporated in 1705. It was the colony’s first port of entry and was home to North Carolina’s first public library.
