One of the most anticipated art shows of the year is now on exhibit in galleries at the Turnage Theatre in downtown Washington.
“The Student Art Show: America” is hosted by Arts of the Pamlico and is on display through April 1.
AOP and its predecessor, Beaufort County Arts Council, have sponsored the long-running show for years. Many of the pieces this year reflect the theme “America” and what it means to the young artists. The works showcased in the exhibition reflect a variety of media.
The show is open to students in kindergarten through high school throughout Beaufort County, including home schooled students as well as those enrolled in public or private schools. Participating schools this year are Bath Elementary, Chocowinity Primary, Eastern Elementary, John Small Elementary, John C. Tayloe Elementary, Northeast Elementary, P.S. Jones Middle School, S.W. Snowden Elementary, Northside High School, Southside High School and Washington High School.
