Alma Joyce Mayo

Ms. Alma Joyce Mayo, age 77, a resident of 210 Village Circle, Washington, passed away Friday, March 23, 2018.
Funeral services will be 3 p.m. Sunday, March 25, 2018, at First Free Will Baptist Church and will be conducted by Associate Pastor Darren Walker and Associate Pastor Bruce Kimbrel. Burial will follow in Oakdale Cemetery. Matthew Cox, Brian Swain, Kevin Newman, Austin Newman, Steven Alligood and James Cox will serve as pallbearers.
Ms. Mayo was born March 7, 1941, in Beaufort County to the late William John Mayo and Minnie Mae Paramore Mayo. She was a member of First Free Will Baptist Church, was well known for her pineapple cakes and her mission of sending cards to her church family.
Survivors include her brother, Dalton W. Mayo of Clinton; three sisters, Bea Woolard, of Virginia Beach, Virginia, Faye Williams and husband Orville, of Kingman, Arizona, Brenda Cox and husband Steele, of Washington, and 19 nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends from 2 p.m. until the service time at the church and other times at her home.
