Mr. Lewis Jackson Adams, age 95, a resident of Washington Park, NC died on Palm Sunday at his home surrounded by family.
A graveside funeral will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday March 28, 2018 at Oakdale Cemetery officiated by Rev. Ken Hall. The family will receive friends following the service at the cemetery. Pallbearers will be James Clifton Buck III, Bryan Jackson Buck, Katherine Adams Bridge, Ashley Avard Womble, James E. Womble, Jr. and James David Duncan, Jr.
Mr. Adams was born in Beaufort County and was son of the late William Bryan Adams and the late Bessie Luther Adams. He was a successful businessman who was very active in his church, First United Methodist Church, and in the community.
Survivors are his wife of sixty six years: Katherine Swanner Adams; two daughters: Rebecca Adams Buck of Raleigh and Ann Bryan Adams Womble and husband James of Marietta, GA; five grandchildren: James Clifton Buck III and wife Brook, Bryan Jackson Buck and wife Donna; Katherine Adams Bridge and husband Adam, Ashley Avard Womble and James David Duncan III; two great grandchildren: Mohammed Bridge and James Clifton Buck IV; a son-in-law: James David Duncan, Jr.; and two sisters: Lela Harrington of Erwin, NC and Ruth Small of Mt. Pleasant, SC. Mr. Adams was predeceased by a daughter: Katherine Adams Duncan.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to Mr. Adams’ caregivers: Ebony Knight, Sam Whitley and April Bullock.
