Mrs. Marcelene A. Moore, age 84, a resident of Shorewood Drive, Washington Park, died Wednesday, April 4, 2018. A graveside service will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, April 8, 2018, at Oakdale Cemetery and will be officiated by Travis Boyd.

Mrs. Moore was born on May 8, 1933, in Wilson County, daughter of the late Jesse Daniel Aycock and Annie D. Aycock. She was a 1951 graduate of Lee Woodard High School, Valedictorian of her class.

During 1952-1955, she attended East Carolina College, finishing early. She taught at Washington High School until Christmas 1955. She resigned to marry the love of her life, Paul Milton Moore, Jr. Marcelene and Milton were married Dec. 28, 1955.

Mrs. Moore is survived by three children, Paul Milton Moore III, of Washington Park, Vance Frederick Moore, of Raleigh, Jessica Aycock Moore, of Raleigh, plus three grandchildren, Camden Vance Moore, Alex Paul Moore and Liam Boswell Moore, of Cary.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Paul Milton Moore, Jr.
