The Beaufort County Community College Foundation is proud to announce the following recipients of scholarships through the BCCC Foundation for the 2017-2018 year. This is just a sample of the recipients.

Caroline Boyd has received the Kimberly Teeter Scholarship. Boyd, 19, is the daughter of Bo and Angela Boyd of Washington. She is working on an Associate in Science and plans to attend Appalachian State University. The Washington resident attended Washington High School and currently works at Pamlico Animal Hospital as a kennel worker.

Stacy Dennis has received the Lucy Burgee Scholarship. Dennis, 42, attended Chocowinity High School and is an early childhood education student. She is the daughter of Malvin King and Harvey Dennis, Sr., and mother of one. The Blounts Creek resident plans to be a teacher and currently works in the bakery at Walmart.

Chelsea Huggins has received the Wilkinson Scholarship. Huggins,18, is pursuing a nursing degree through the Regionally Increasing Baccalaureate Nurses program from BCCC. A graduate of New Bern High School, she is the daughter of David and Janie Martin. Huggins plans to finish her BSN at East Carolina University and work as a neonatal nurse after graduating from BCCC. Huggins is also an ambassador for BCCC and president of Gamma Beta Phi.

James Mann has received the Robert E. Farrish and BLB Scholarships. Mann, 56, is a father of one, and he is working on a degree in automotive systems technology. The Washington resident works at Beaufort County Community College as a grounds and maintenance mechanic.

Yalissa Mondragon has received the Wilkinson Scholarship. Mondragon, 27, attended Bear Grass High School and is working toward an Associate Degree in Nursing. She is the daughter of Anthony and Sonya Beal of Washington, wife of Iseal Mondragon and a mother of two. Mondragon has also earned an Associate in Arts and an Associate in General Education from BCCC. The Washington resident plans to work locally while finishing her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. Mondragon is also an ambassador for BCCC.

Ivonmarie Munoz has received the Sam Taylor Scholarship. Munoz, 24, is working on her Associate Degree in Nursing and Associate in General Education. She is the daughter of Manelly Alicea and Hector Munoz of Waterbury, Conn. The Washington resident attended Washington High School, and she plans to work as a registered nurse. She currently works at Spring Arbor of Greenville Assisted Living as a medical technician.

Catherine Sanders has received the Sam Taylor Scholarship. Sanders, 32, is the daughter of Pam and Terry Hannah of Lowland, and Pam and Ivan Ireland of Lowland. She is working on an Associate Degree in Nursing and plans to get her Bachelor of Science in Nursing. The Hobucken resident attended Pamlico County High School. She is the wife of Jeff Sanders and a mother of four.

Cherry Taylor has received the LaBarbera Scholarship. Taylor, 43, is working on an Associate Degree in Nursing, and she plans work in labor and delivery, or neonatal intensive care. The Washington resident is a mother of one, and she attended Washington High School.

Madison Teachey has received the Lane Scholarship. Teachey, 21, is the daughter of Belinda Hague and Raymond Teachey of Hampstead. She is working on her Associate Degree in Nursing. The Hampstead resident attended Topsail High School. She is currently working as an anatomy tutor for TRIO Student Support Services at BCCC. She plans to work toward a Bachelor of Science in Nursing at East Carolina University.
