The Red Wolf Coalition (RWC) recently announced that two cash scholarships, each worth $1000, will be awarded to two members of the Columbia High School 2018 graduating class. The awardees must be planning to attend a two-year or a four-year college beginning in Fall 2018. Fifth-year students at the high school are also eligible to apply.

The scholarships will be awarded based on the Red Wolf Coalition’s evaluation of each applicant’s academic record, an educator’s recommendation, and the applicant’s interview with RWC staff and Board members. The scholarship funds will be paid directly to each student’s school and applied to the student’s tuition, fees or other costs.

Columbia High School serves all students in Tyrrell County, NC, the heart of red wolf country. Based in the town of Columbia, the Red Wolf Coalition is a citizen non-profit that advocates for the long-term survival of red wolf populations by teaching about the red wolf and by fostering public involvement in red wolf conservation. The organization also participates in a variety of activities and initiatives in support of the local community.
