If a strong chamber of commerce is a sign of a strong economy, Washington and Beaufort County as a whole are looking good. A recent membership drive at the Washington-Beaufort County Chamber of Commerce netted 40 new members for the organization.
“We ran a two-day membership drive with volunteers who are already chamber members, board members and ambassadors,” Glover said. “This is our third drive since 2010.”
Bringing in members from a variety of industries, including realtors, event planners and summer camps, to name a few. Chamber welcomed new and old members alike with a large business afterhours last Tuesday.
Among the many benefits of chamber membership, the organization offers networking, social activities and special perks for those who join.
“If you sum it up, membership means ways to network, promote your business, advertise your business and ways to get involved in the community,” Glover said. “The stronger the business community comes together, the stronger the voice of the business community speaks out.”
