Noon rotary recognizes scholarship winners

Washington (noon) Rotary Club is pleased to announce the following recipients of scholarships for the 2017–2018 year.

Nafe’ Moore is a senior at Washington High School and plans to attend the University of North Carolina at Greensboro to study Kinesiology with the goal of working as an athletic trainer with a college team. Nafe’ is the daughter of Rodriquez and Tuyet Moore.

Perla Chavez-Pullman is a student at the Beaufort County Early College High School. She will be attending North Carolina State University studying political science and business with plans to attend law school after college. Perla is the daughter of Heriberto Chavez and Marcela Pullmanova.

Caleb Petty is a senior at Southside High School and will be attending Belmont University to study commercial music. He will continue to perform in charity and fundraising events to benefit others. Caleb is the son of Jason and Christina Petty.

The Washington Noon Rotary Club scholarship is awarded to high school seniors pursuing an education at a four-year college or university or a two-year community college. The scholarship is dedicated to the ideal of personal commitment. Applicants were judged on the basis of academic achievement, extra-curricular activities and community involvement. The recipients possess qualities of good character, good citizenship and a genuine interest in their fellow man.

Washington (noon) Rotary consists of volunteers within Beaufort County dedicating their efforts to charitable causes both locally and those to which its parent organization subscribes.
