“Students and staff have worked hard to get to this point in the school year, and now is their time to show what they know. Good luck to all,” said Dr. Will Hoffman, Tyrrell County Schools superintendent, on May 18 in announcing upcoming tests.

“Over the next three weeks students will have an opportunity to show all that they have learned this school year in some form of standardized assessment,” he explained.

Elementary students began May 21 assessing in grades three through five with end-of-grade tests in reading, math and science.

Kindergarten through second grade students will continue to be assessed in reading to complete their end-of-year Dibels assessments.

Columbia Middle School and Columbia High School will spend the remaining weeks making final preparations and testing

EOGs, end-of-course, North Carolina final exams, Career and Technical Education post assessments and teacher-made final exams, the superintendent stated.
