BACK IN TIME: The May 20 meeting at the 1877 Fairfield United Methodist Church, a well-preserved example of Gothic revival architecture, drew a crowd. The meeting featured Christopher Meekins, an archivist with Archives and History in Raleigh, who spoke to the group on using the resources at the Archives for research. Meekins is shown here speaking with some of those attending the meeting. For more information on the Hyde Co. Historical & Genealogical Society, see the Society’s Facebook page or contact the Society at PO Box 517, Engelhard, NC 27824.
