Marking it 76th continuous year of Independence Day celebrations, Belhaven was the place to be on the Fourth of July. With fun, games, vendors and plenty to do, the event drew a large crowd, but perhaps the greatest offering of the day was the traditional parade down Main Street. With both sides of the streets packed with spectators, the procession offered one spectacle after the next, from antique tractors and local politicians to tiara-wearing pageant winners and a gorilla on a bicycle.
