The Richland Seniors met on July 3 in the absence of its president, Ann Cayton. Vice President Terry Mathais called the meeting to order, Mary Ellen Galloway gave devotion, led in the Lord’s Prayer and the Pledge of Allegiance.
The roll was called by Secretary Lib Litchfield, as were the minutes from the group’s May meeting and a report was given on the June day trip to Surf City. It seems that everyone had a fun-filled day. The group did a two-hour tour of the inland waterway given by TIKI TOURS. Captain James, a lifelong resident, was very knowledgeable of the area. We enjoyed lunch at Daddy Mac’s Restaurant on the oceanfront.
After a brief meeting for July, Jeffry Robinson, Manager of the Southern Bank of Aurora and Secretary/treasure of the Aurora Fire Dept., was the speaker. The group was well informed of the operations of the local fire department and members had lots of questions and Robinson did an outstanding job answering all of them. He was ask to join us for lunch, and the group enjoyed having him. The meeting was adjourned with Mary Ellen blessing the food.
