Vincent Lawrence “Larry “ Cooper, 74, of Plymouth, died, Tuesday, July 10, 2018 at his residence, surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Tyrrell County, November 24, 1943, he was the son of the late Kenneth Lester and Kathryn Mae Rhodes Cooper. He was married to the former Thadine Hopkins who survives.
He was a member of Alligood Church of God. He loved his church and his family.
He spent over thirty-five years working in maintenance and as a Millwright for Weyerhaeuser. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, camping and visiting with his friends at Bojangles. He found special joy in woodworking and could fix almost anything.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, July 15, 2018 at Alligood Church of God, 1891 Mill Hole Road, Washington, NC. Pastor Gary Bateman and Pastor Phillip Jethro will officiate. Burial will follow in the family plot in Hillside Cemetery.
In addition to his wife, surviving are two sons, Vincent Cooper, Jr. and wife April of Robersonville, Matthew Cooper and wife, Carley of Pinetown; three daughters, Melanie Wright and husband, Robert of Winterville and Stephanie C. Johnston and husband, Stacey of Plymouth; fourteen grandchildren and two great grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a brother Don Cooper.
The family will receive friends Saturday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bryan Funeral Service at Hampton Academy, 108 West Main Street, Plymouth.
