Lee Scripture and Karen Clough (left) were elected as chairman and vice-chairman, respectively, of the Tyrrell County Board of Education in early July. Scripture is in the middle of a four-year term, and Clough won re-election in a contested race last May. Other members are Carlos Armstrong, Robin Dunbar and Janie Spencer.
