Pets of the Week: July 28, 2018

Published 5:47 pm Friday, July 27, 2018

Those interested in adopting a pet should inquire at the Betsy Bailey Nelson Animal Control Facility, 3931 U.S. Highway 264 East, from 1 p.m. until 5:30 p.m. Mondays through Fridays and 11 a.m. until 3 p.m. Saturdays. Because of overcrowded conditions, the animals listed are only available as indicated.

All adoptions are on a first-come, first-served basis. To see more animals available for adoption, visit www.petango.com/beaufortcountyNC, visit ENC Shelter Dogs, ENC Shelter Cats and Washington Cat Rescue on Facebook or call 252-946-4517 for more information. The Humane Society of Beaufort County can also be found on Facebook at www.facebook.com/BeaufortCountyNCHumaneSociety.

Requests for more information with regard to the animals appearing in Pets of the Week may be directed to shelter staff in person at the shelter during business hours or by emailing animal.control@co.beaufort.nc.us — always use the animal’s ID number.

Please note, the shelter is closed on the first Wednesday of each month for cleaning and maintenance.

Echo and Acorn

These adorable kittens are packed with personality and fun. Both kittens have shorthair coats, and these 3-month-old boys have play as their primary goal in life. Acorn, with his all-gray coat, shows characteristics of being a British blue mix, a breed packed with wonderful traits. Echo, a bi-color kitten with his coat in black and white, carries splendid traits also, including that of sweetness. Echo and Acorn will fit well into a variety of home settings, and when given the love, warmth and stability of a good forever home(s), they will blossom into devoted friends, pets and companions. Echo’s ID is No. 1078 and Acorn’s ID is 1079.

Come in — they’d love to meet and greet you. They are available at the shelter.

Walker

Sweet, loving and friendly, that’s Walker. Approximately 6 years old, this calm and gentle, large male, black, brown and white hound mix is extremely thin and he needs owner(s) who will love him, give him attention and care, feed him good nutritious food on a regular basis, provide exercise in a fenced area or on a leash and patient training so he knows what’s expected of him. Walker deserves a good, loving forever home where he will be a faithful companion and pet. Come spend a little time with Walker — ID No. 1089 — and see for yourself what a wonderful dog he is. He’s available at the shelter.
