National Night Out will be from 5:30-7 p.m. on Tuesday, August 7, at Tyrrell Hall, sponsored by the Tyrrell County Sheriff’s Office.

There will be free food, children’s activities, emergency equipment on display, a K-9 demonstration, and local emergency responders and other groups on hand with materials and information.

“The event is free, and the public is invited to attend,” said Sheriff Darryl Liverman.

National Night Out brings the community together with emergency responders to partner in taking a stand against crime in the local community and to help develop positive relationships between law enforcement and the local citizens, the sheriff explained.
