Tyrrell County deputies arrested Esteban Cruz Jr., 25, of Rocky Mount, an inmate at Tyrrell Prison Work Farm, on August 15 and charged him with possession of a controlled substance on prison premises, Sheriff Darryl Liverman reported.

Cruz had K-2 synthetic cannabinoid in his possession, the sheriff stated.

Cruz is the 46th inmate that has been arrested by the sheriff’s office at the prison since May 2017, Sheriff Liverman said.
