“It’s so hot outside.”
These words have been hanging on the lips of many a Beaufort County residents this summer. The seasonal heat can be stifling, even oppressive to the point where working during the mid-day highs can become unbearable.
With the first official day of fall only two weeks away, the hot natured among us may soon find some relief from the scorching temperatures of summer, but we’re not quite there yet.
The period between the unofficial end of summer on Labor Day Weekend and the official end in late September is a strange time. The kids are back in school, the temperatures are still up, and prices plummet on vacation rentals.
This is the perfect time to get in one last taste of summer before the weather cools. It’s the time for last minute trips and quick getaways to somewhere pretty. Consider this an opportunity to soak up the last warmth of summer, because who knows what the coming season holds.
Go for a swim. Take out a kayak or a paddle board. Put on that bathing suit one last time before it goes away for the season. Enjoy the warmth before the cold finally sets in, because sure as anything, it’s coming, and it won’t be long before the chill of winter is upon us.
