HURRICANE PREP: Town of Aurora

Speaking to Aurora Public Works Director Terry Groome, municipal crews were taking necessary steps on Monday to get the town’s equipment and infrastructure up to speed for the impending storm.
“We’re trying to clean out some of the main drainage ditches and get the generators cranked up, hooked up and put under load to make sure they’re working,” Groome said.
In addition to taking care of the town’s infrastructure, Groome went on to say that the maintenance department is taking steps to fuel up its vehicles, and build up reserves.
“It’s not our first rodeo, so we’re going to be as prepared as we can be,” Groome said. “We’ve got a lot of experience in doing it.
