Beaufort County Schools announces end-of-week closures

The following was released by Beaufort County Schools as of 4:30 p.m. on Monday:
Based on current weather conditions and information from various emergency officials, this is our plan for Wednesday through Friday of this week. This is subject to change if necessary. We will also be communicating this information via a call later tonight as well.
Beaufort County Schools will be closed for students from Wednesday, Sept. 12 to Friday, Sept. 14 due to the impending hurricane. No make-up days are scheduled for students as yet. More to come on that subject later.
Wednesday, Sept. 12, will be an optional teacher workday for staff.
On Thursday and Friday, Sept. 13 and 14, schools will be closed for all 10-month and 12-month staff with the exception of the maintenance department, principals and building custodial staff (assuming they can travel safely).
