Cypress Landing hosts fundraisers for Shepard Cancer Center

CHOCOWINITY — Before the wrath of Hurricane Florence left Cypress Landing community without power for days, on the weekend of Sept. 7-9, the Cypress Landing Golf Club played host to a pair of events benefitting the Marion L. Shepard Cancer Center. On Friday, Sept. 7, hundreds of participants gathered for the annual Hope and Heroes Walk, a 1.3- or three-mile walk around the golf course to benefit the center. The walk was followed by a golf tournament on Sunday afternoon with the Let’s Tee it Up for a Cure Tournament.
